Massage Therapy
* Swedish Massage
Also know as relaxation massage, promotes deep relaxation of mind and body, full body health maintenance and detoxification through the movement of blood and lymphatic fluid. This modality directly affects the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems, and is primarily used for decreasing tension, overall stress relief, improving circulation and enhancing the functionality of the immune system.
* Deep Tissue
Is extremely effective in treating postural dysfunction. Postural issues are caused by repetitive motion mostly caused by work activities, such as working at a computer that affects the neck and shoulder region. It is also used by athletes on a regular basis to help maintain their bodies as they put them under daily stress. It decreases the chances of injury and reduces recovery time between workouts. It is normal to feel some soreness the day after a deep tissue session. This type of massage requires extensive knowledge of anatomy and pathology..
* Trigger Point Release
Trigger points are highly irritated bands of tissue located in or along a muscle. The small point of irritation can cause tightness throughout the entire muscle and referred pain throughout the entire body. The symptoms of trigger points can vary from local discomfort in the muscle, to headaches, numbness, tingling, and restricted mobility. Sometimes trigger points can even mimic or be one of the causes of repetitive stress injuries. The trigger point technique can be extremely effective at relieving these symptoms.
Myofascial Release
Is a very effective hands-on technique that provides sustained pressure into myofascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. The theory of Myofascial Release requires an understanding of the fascial system (or connective tissue). The fascia is a specialized structural system of the body that is very densely woven, covering and interpenetrating every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein as well as all of our internal organs.
The most interesting aspect of the fascial system is that it is not just a system of separate coverings. It is actually one structure that exists from head to foot without interruption. In this way you can observe how important the fascial system is, interconnecting each part of the entire body.
Cupping Therapy
With the use of plastic cups and an air pump, myofascial cupping produces suction to decompress underlying tissue. The therapist applies the cup to the surface of the skin to create negative pressure similar to a vacuum, drawing underlying tissue into the cup. After that, the therapist massages the cup along the skin to create a therapeutic effect/response.
Benefits:
* The suction breaks up excessive scar tissue, adhesions and collagen fibers.
* Affects the receptors in the tissue that relaxes and resets the fascia and muscles.
* Increases Range of Motion in areas that are adhered and restricted from postural dysfunction, repetitive overuse injuries, and chronic sport injuries.
* Helps maintain RoM for athletes and helps to decrease inflammation and speed up the repair of tissue.
* Increases local circulation in the superficial skin layers and the underlying fascia and tissue.
* Relaxes and warms the superficial skin and fasciae to facilitate reaching the deeper layers of muscles.
Reiki
This simple, non-invasive healing modality works on all levels of your being: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Reiki is a full spectrum healing modality treating both the “cause” and the “effect” of the energetic imbalance. During each Reiki session your entire energetic and physical system is charged up with a high level of Universal Life Force Energy. Universal Life Force Energy is the energy that animates all living things. When our life force energy is high we are energetic, healthy, creative and vibrant. When our life force energy is low we are more susceptible to illness and we feel depleted, depressed, unhealthy and exhausted. Life force energy is vital to our health and well-being, and the supply of that energy may be affected by many factors such as repetitive negative thoughts/emotions/feelings, fear, unhealthy relationships and poor choices in our food all affect our life force.
During a Reiki session, a high level of universal life force energy moves through your system breaking up and dissolving old traumas, blocks, negative energy, unprocessed emotions and stored pain. As we eliminate each imbalance in your system, your supply of life force energy will be increased, therefore, assisting you with your own healing. Your inner healer will be activated through the removal of energetic blocks and negative frequencies assisting your body to become stronger and more able to use its own inner wisdom to fight off disease. Once balance is achieved, your moods and behaviors will improve, your sense of self and self-esteem will return and your innate self-organizing principle in your body will be activated.
